Q&A With Interior Designer Guillaume Gentet
NYS: How and when did you first become involved with Holiday House?
GG: We first became involved with Holiday House in 2012 (with Robyn Karp Interiors’ Sweet Sixteen bedroom). Last summer, we were asked to design the media room for the first Holiday House Hamptons. It was a special moment for me because it was the first show house that I felt comfortable doing despite a bunch of active projects. Marie Antoinette’s legacy served as my inspiration, set in a modern, post-Bastille Day France blending modern elements into a very traditional setting. I tried to imagine what the Dauphine would have wanted in a media room if she were around today. When the opportunity arose to participate in Holiday House NYC, I was thrilled to work with the organization again, and for the opportunity to design a new concept.
